The last couple of days, we have had medical students from the University of Leeds explaining medical careers available to our students after their school life.
On the first day, the students learnt about the careers paths and skills they need to have to get into those kinds of careers. They worked in teams to come up with their presentations, with the support of the medical student and eventually presented their findings to the class (there were some amazing presentations!).
On the second day, pupils learnt about medical equipment used in emergency situations (and even dressed up like surgeons). They learnt what each piece of equipment is used for and how to use them, before having a chance to use each piece of equipment.
