Mr. Khalid took eight Year 11 students to a medical event organised by Beckfoot School, giving them an insight into the work of a doctor.
They learnt about dissection, structures within the brain and digestive tract, identifying structures within the heart, how to administer the general anaesthetic Propofol via the use of a catheter and they were expected to make detailed notes on human anatomy.
All of the students were eager to the get on with the dissection of organs with a special mention to Adam, Tayyeb and Muhammad, who were clearly making a big statement with their advanced knowledge in anatomy considering there were A-level students from the other schools.
Adam was suspiciously skilled in the art of mutilation, having strategically and methodically removed both an eye and the brain from the specimen.
Overall, an amazing event for the students, some of whom have aspirations of becoming a doctor.
