Our Beckfoot Upper Heaton learner is central to all we do – it represents the skills and values that are needed to succeed at school and beyond. Our belief is that a whole school curriculum is not just about academic achievement, but the totality of experiences which are planned for children and young people through their education, wherever they are being educated. It includes the ethos and life of the school as a community; curriculum areas and subjects; interdisciplinary learning and opportunities for personal achievement. Our Beckfoot Upper Heaton learner is at the very heart of this.
Knowledge is key in achieving academic success and fundamental in securing a successful and prosperous career. However, it is a person’s values and skills which will make them stand out, adapt to change efficiently and overcome challenges.
We expect all our community to contribute positively to school and the wider society, leading happy and fulfilled lives. Our Positive Behaviour and Reward Strategy is designed to reward all that do the right things and supportively challenge those who don’t. We don’t leave any child behind.
