Bradford Council provide the meals at Beckfoot Upper Heaton and the catering team pride themselves on providing an excellent well-rounded menu whilst encapsulating food and cultures from around the world.
Our school is committed to healthy eating and provides food which not only tastes great, but is nutritionally balanced, providing your child the essentials for a healthy diet.
The students have the opportunity to feedback and contribute to designing menus as part of student leadership initiatives.
If your child has a dietary need please communicate this to school via email to the school office on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Food is available before school, at break times and lunchtime.
Cashless Catering System
Beckfoot Upper Heaton operates a cashless catering system. The system incorporates the latest technology and eliminates the need for students to carry cash throughout the day. Payment is made via your child’s thumb print at the tills. As a result of current legislation the system will operate an ‘Opt in’ policy and therefore we require you to complete a Biometric Opt-in Form. If you choose not to have your child registered on the Biometric System, a 4-digit PIN Code will be allocated. Please note that PIN Codes do not have the same level of security and it will always be your child’s responsibility to remember the code and keep it secure.
Any amount of money can be paid into a student’s account and any money spent on food and drink will be deducted each day. There are two payment options available to you; online payments via ParentPay which is the preferred method, or if you cannot make online payments, cash can be used at the revaluation machines.
A daily ‘spend limit’ can be programmed into the system. This can be increased or decreased for an individual student by making a written request to Catering Team, at the school.
