Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Arrangements for returning to school 08/03/2021

Please see the letter below which has been sent to all families 01.03.2021, via MyEd:

Good Afternoon Parent/Carer,

We are really excited that school is re-opening next week.
At present, we are finalising the details and will be in touch later this week with further information.
For now, I can tell you that for the first week, students will be coming into school on a staggered basis:

Monday 8th March:

  • Year 7 students will be in school all day, in full uniform and with their equipment packs.
  • Years 8, 9, 10 & 11 will stay at home and work remotely.
  • If your child is not in Year 7 but attends our look after provision, they can still come to school in full uniform and with their equipment packs.
  • Year 12 and Year 13 students will come in to have their Covid test and will then work remotely from home.

Tuesday 9th March:

  • Year 8 and Year 9 students will be in school all day, in full uniform and with their equipment packs.
  • Years 7, 10, 11, 12 and 13 will stay at home and work remotely.
  • If your child is not in Year 8 or 9 but attends our look after provision, they can still come to school in full uniform and with their equipment packs.

Wednesday 10th March:

  • Year 10 and Year 11 students will be in school all day, in full uniform and with their equipment packs.
  • Years 7, 8, 9, 12 and 13 will stay at home and work remotely.
  • If your child is not in Year 10 or 11 but attends our look after provision, they can still come to school in full uniform and with their equipment packs.

Thursday 11th March and Friday 12th March:

  • All students from all year groups will be in school, in full uniform and with their equipment packs.
  • No year groups will be working remotely from home.
  • The look after provision will no longer exist.

Uniform and presentation expectations are as normal.  Students who do not meet our normal expectations will be supported with replacement uniform or will be educated in our intervention rooms until the issue is resolved.

It is the DfE and PHE’s recommendation that students should wear a face covering (a mask) in classrooms (in addition to corridors and communal areas) unless a 2 metre social distance can be maintained. As it is not possible to maintain a 2 metre social distance in our classrooms when all our students return, the recommendation is really a requirement unless an individual has one of the specified reasons for not needing to wear a mask.
Please contact your child’s year leader if your child has one of the specified reasons for not wearing a mask.

When your child comes back to school, they need to remember to bring their full equipment with them which includes their equipment pack. Their zip wallet should contain their whiteboard, whiteboard pen, whiteboard rubber, highlighter and glue stick.

We will also be looking for our Lockdown Learning Heroes so they can bring in any exercise books that they have completed or some work that they are particularly proud of.

We are looking forward to seeing our students next week.
