Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Conduct & Consequences Charter

Today we launch our Conduct and Consequence Charter!

At Beckfoot Upper Heaton we passionately believe that every child should have equal opportunity to access a quality education. To ensure that this happens, some changes need to be made in school to allow every one of our students to achieve their full potential.

In assembly time this week, students will be introduced to the new Conduct and Consequences Charter where we will outline the new codes and criteria as shown here:

Conduct and Consequences

Consequence System

It is important to acknowledge and reward those students who are getting it right, so we have also introduced a new positive behaviour rewards system. The top three highest AtL1 scoring students in each year group, each half term, will receive either a shopping voucher, 'Jump the Queue' pass (for break time including a free snack) or a water bottle.

I have set two review dates to evaluate the impact of this strategy; June 28th & July 12th, and I will be consulting with families at this point. Your feedback on this Conduct and Consequence Charter will help shape our new behaviour policy to be launched in September 2021 which will include a Home/School Agreement that all students and their families will be asked to sign.

I appreciate that there is a lot of information to digest here. We will always talk to families with concerns of any kind, so please get in touch if you would like to talk.
