Behaviour and Attitude at Beckfoot Upper Heaton
Excellence, integrity, kindness and mutual care and respect are the foundations of our school. All students are recognised for positive behaviour and praised regularly, consistently and fairly. We believe it is important to repair a relationship where there has been an incident and we do this through restorative conversations.

Beckfoot Upper Heaton’s 100% habits prepare students to be successful in every aspect of school life. Our school will do everything possible to ensure every student succeeds; we will take tough decisions where these are needed to safeguard the learning and wellbeing of our students and in keeping with the clear expectations set out in our habits.
Rewards and praise
We believe students must be praised and recognised daily, weekly, half termly and at the end of the year by all staff for doing the right think and attendance.
To celebrate positive interactions, we use Class Charts, allowing students to earn weekly prizes based on their positive behaviour points. Each half term students receive certificates, and at the end of each cycle, they have the opportunity to attend special reward events such as cinema trips or a visit to the cinema.
Achievement points are rewarded on Class Charts for a variety of positive behaviours, ensuring students feel motivated and supported in a safe and secure school environment.
