Year 10 Parent Consultation Evening

Staff Training Day - Friday, 21st November

School is closed to students on this day

Exam Certificates

GCSE certificates from Summer 2025 examinations are available for collection from School Reception from the week commencing Monday 10 November 2025.

Alternatively, if school leavers have a sibling attending school, the certificates can be collected on their behalf, as long as a letter of authorisation is provided with a copy of a valid ID.

Exam certificates are an important document and should be kept somewhere safe. If you misplace or lose your certificates you can only get replacements through the Examining Boards who can charge up to £50 per certificate (as at July 2025).

Please note that a requirement of the Examining Boards is that all certificates be returned to them or destroyed, if not collected within 12 months of issue. We therefore suggest that certificates are collected no later than Friday 17 July 2026 from the Summer 2025 Exam Series.

Admissions

Admissions

The planned number for the admission to Year 7 in the school year commencing 2026 will be a maximum of 145.

Making an application

We want to make applying for Beckfoot Upper Heaton as easy as possible, below tells you how to apply for our school and should answer any questions you may have regarding the process.

Bradford Local Authority administers the admissions arrangements for all schools in the Beckfoot Trust. Applications for Beckfoot Upper Heaton will be made using the Local Authority Common Application Form by the national closing date (31 October 2025). This found can be found online here.

In Bradford, parents may list up to five schools on the In-year Application Form or up to five preferences when applying for Year 7 in the normal admissions round. Although legislation gives parents a right to express a preference for a particular school, Beckfoot Trust must
first consider whether there is a place available and then whether your child qualifies for a place using the oversubscription criteria below. If your child could be given a place at more than one of your preferred schools, the LA will offer a place at the highest-ranked preference.

Bradford LA will inform parents of the offer of a place on behalf of the Trust Board on the national offer date.

Working together with local primary schools

At Beckfoot Upper Heaton, we are proud of our strong and supportive partnerships with local primary schools. We work closely with all our feeder schools to ensure that every Year 6 student makes a confident and successful start to life at our school.

Mr Dey (Headteacher at Beckfoot Upper Heaton) and Mrs Mawson (Headteacher at Beckfoot Heaton Primary School) collaborate closely to design an effective transition programme. While there are strong ties between Beckfoot Heaton and Beckfoot Upper Heaton, the programme is designed to benefit all children from across our local community.

As proud members of the Beckfoot Trust, both our schools share a commitment to creating remarkable schools where no child is left behind. This shared vision, alongside a long-standing tradition of local families attending both schools, ensures that transition is built on continuity, care, and high expectations. It’s a partnership grounded in trust, community, and a deep understanding of what our students need to thrive.
