We have a range of support models which reflect the needs of individual and groups of pupils.
Quality First Teaching: the CoSENCOs (Laura Newcombe and Tracy Ward) are available to give advice and support to teaching colleagues regarding how best to meet the needs of SEND youngsters in class.
School Support (K designation on SEND Register): Learning Support Assistants and the SENCO offer in class support to small groups and individual students in mainstream classes.
School Support + (K+ designation on SEND Register): the team offer small group teaching, nurture group support, Forest School interventions and individualised programmes targeting the needs of SEND students in our school, for example focus on improving literacy strategies.
Education, Health and Care Plan (E designation on SEND Register): the team offer small group teaching to support students around the provision which is outlined in their EHCP, alongside individualised and bespoke mainstream classroom support
ICT equipment (laptops) for PD students / scanning with supernova programme for visually impaired students are also in use in school.
The school offers a number of designated supervised quiet areas for use by SEND students at break and lunchtime for example the large group room and LRC which students can access by agreement with SENCO and LRC manager. Early break and lunches as well as alternative venues are also available by agreement.
